Yay well spring is finally here, so does that mean we’ll be getting some well deserved blue sky and warmer days? I really hope so! I don’t know about you but I definitely feel better with a little sun on my skin! I thought this was the perfect time to start my very first blog – please be kind 🙂

Both my boys are watching a movie on TV right now, so have a little spare time (although this can easily change to screaming and arguing in an instant!) So I thought this was the perfect opportunity to get started! People always ask my what got me started in makeup and if I’m honest I don’t really know, I’ve just always had a real passion for it, starting from a young age, looking at it, using it, watching other people apply it and of course buying it!! And it’s true for today too. I love how you can really change how someone feels and looks just buy painting their face! And that’s the best thing, it really is just like painting a picture, you make a mistake and you can just wipe it away and start a fresh. There are no rules with makeup you can do what you want, and be who you want to be, experiment, and most importantly, have fun! I thought I would kick off telling you about my 3 fav skin care products at the mo because lets face it skin care is just as important, especially with it being spring, its time to kick start our skincare,   let me know what you think…

BOBBI BROWN LATHERING TUBE SOAP £21.50 125ml

I love this makeup remover as it’s a wash off product and I don’t know about you but I really love that squeaky clean feeling once I’ve taking all my makeup off at the end of a long day. Its for a more normal/oily skin so not so great for a dryer skin, but for me its fab. The coconut extract really gives a deep clean and the apricot oil keeps the skin hydrated and it smells great too (I’m one of those funny people who like to smell everything first – if it don’t smell good its not going on my face!) Its £21.50, which may seem a little more pricey but it lasts for months so I think its well worth it. Pea size amount on wet hands, lather up, wash face and I personally like to use warm wet cotton pads to wipe off, Voila!

BOBBI BROWN BUFFING GRAINS £30.00 28g

This is the best exfoliator ever and I’ve used a LOT of exfoliators! This one is great as you can use it on its own or mix it with whatever face wash/cleanser you are using. I use my face wash first, really lather it up on skin then add the tiniest amount of these to my hand and massage on the skin. They are quite fine so can be used on any skin type too; I have had mine over 6 months and have hardly used any. It’s fab if your going to do a little self tan too, just use it around your knees/elbows and ankles first so you don’t get those awful orange patches – never a good look!! I probably use it once a week and you really notice the difference especially when apply your foundation the next day it looks so flawless 🙂

CLINIQUE MOISTURE SURGE EXTENDED THIRST RELIEF £34.00 50ml

OMG I have so much love for this moisturiser, it’s my life saver, I always have at least one spare in the drawer as I cannot live without it, its my hero product. I get an oily t-zone and I hate that heavy cream feeling on my skin – but my skin still gets dehydrated so I need something that will work for both. Moisture surge is a gel cream and is oil free, and it’s like giving the skin a drink. I can literally use a tiny bit of loads depending on how my skin is feeling (or if I’ve been out with the girls the night before and needs a little extra help!) and it immediately plumps up my skin and makes it look and feel fresher. I believe (and don’t quote me!) that you can use this over makeup too if your skin feels a little dehydrated through out the day by pressing into the skin.

This is an excellent first post, Tara. Love your photos too! I really like the look of the Bobbi Brown buffing grains. I have similar T-zone issues to you and currently having good results from Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base but the Moisture Surge looks great. Can’t get me away from my beloved Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish though. I’d love it if you covered non-freaky natural eyebrows!
