F A Q
How far in advance should I book my makeup artist?
As soon as you find an artist you like the style of get in touch, my peak Friday and Saturday dates get booked up 18 months in advance sometimes.
What products do you use in your kit?
I use a mixture of high quality premier brands in my kit that have been tried and tested to be long wearing and create a flawless finish. My most used brands are Charlotte Tilbury, Nars, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Tarte, Hourglass, ABH and Huda beauty.
Where doe the trial take place and can I bring someone along?
The trial takes place at my studio in Throop, Bournemouth, It's lovely to bring along mum or a friend for their advice but due to space I can only accommodate the bride plus a maximum of 2 others.
How far in advance should I have my trial and how long will it last?
Trials can be done at any point, although I usually recommend 2 - 4 months before. By then you will have your dress and any accessories so we can make sure that everything compliments each other perfectly.
It can be nice to book you hair trial for before or after so you can see the full look together too.
A trial usually last 60-90 minutes.
Can I have a trial at the weekend or in the evenings?
Trials are done from my studio in Throop, Bournemouth on weekdays Wednesday to Friday only. I don’t offer trials at the weekend trials except for January - March as I have weddings every weekend and can never be sure what time I will arrive back home. I also have 2 children so any time with them is precious. I can also do a Thursday evening.
What happens on the wedding morning?
I will arrive at the time we have agreed and get myself set up ready to start, I will need space with good natural light and a table to set my products up on. We will have already agreed upon a time schedule, so I will work my way through the bridal party and then once everyone is ready I will pack up all except for any touch up products so I can make sure everyone has fresh lipstick and setting spray before I leave. I will then leave to let you finish getting ready.
Do I need a trial?
Yes, the trial is really important for the bride, it gives us a chance to spend some time together and work out the best products for you. Its also important for us to trial the product to ensure they suit your skin and there are no reactions. With such an important day you want to know how your makeup will look and not have any anxiety about how it will turn out. During the trial we talk about how you like to wear your makeup as well as look at any Pinterest photos of any makeup styles you like. Its also a really lovely idea to tie in your hair trial on the same day. At the trial I take notes on all the products used as well as photos to be sure the wedding morning runs smoothly, and will also work out a schedule for the wedding morning too.
Can you recommend anyone for hair?
I most certainly can! I work with some of the best stylists around, and the morning flows so nicely when we work together as a team. Please get in touch and I can arrange for them to contact you.
