Seeing as I haven’t been allowed to work for over 5 month now it I thought I’d tell you about what I’ve been up to. Last week I was invited along to the media night for an amazing new Thai restaurant in the centre of Bournemouth. I love eating out but since Covid I have only eaten out a few times so I was really looking forward to it (and an excuse to get dressed up!).
Now if you like authentic Thai food then you will love this place, Tom the owner and head chef originates from Bangkok in Thailand and gets his cooking from his mother. Everything is made fresh on site, even the spring rolls – I didn’t realise that this is usually something that is made away from the restaurant, and can honestly say are the best I’ve ever had. They had that perfect crisp crunch to them! We were greeted by Jackie and Richard from Route PR who made sure we were all well looked after.
We were treated to some beautiful dishes including some well known ones and some of the chef favourites too. I have to say my favourites were the prawn pad Thai and the green Thai curry!
What I really loved was how much time and effort was spent in making the interior look and feel the part, it was as if you had just walked into Thailand! It felt warm and cosy yet very clean and inviting. The tables and bar are all made from sustainable wood from the new forest and the cocktail bar is absolutely beautiful and made from one piece of wood.
Now if you like cocktails then you need to head over to see Mitch the bar manager, he is renowned for being the best cocktail maker in Bournemouth and I can see why! We were greeted with the most delicious lychee and mango fizz cocktail which I could have had on repeat all night (I love any thing sweet so it was right up my street!) and were then ask to take a seat. Now being Covid safe there were plenty of tables to choose from and hand sanitizers stations too. There were also some lovely booths going in outside, but these were just being finished due to some delays however I could already see they were going to be great for summer days – there is also a retractable roof!
I absolutely loved coming here and enjoyed the whole experience so if you are looking to try somewhere new I can highly recommend Kala Thai, they are also participating in the ‘eat out to help out’ scheme during August Monday through to Wednesday so get booking!
Thank you Kala Thai and Route PR for having me xx
